Coach Carter

A – Perfect
Coach Carter (2005) is based off of the true story of Ken Carter and the Richmond Oilers, including the basketball lockout. Coach Carter becomes the new head coach for the Richmond High School Oilers. As part of the agreement to play basketball, the players had to perform in the school.
I love true story movies and this movie far exceeds my expectations. This movie is good even for those of us who do not like sports movies.

Click

F – Waste
This Adam Sandler movie is about an overworked architect who gets a remote to help control his life.
This movie seems to be a weird form of the Christmas Carol. The movie is poorly done and is part of the whole typical Adam Sandler character. This movie probably could have been great but was poorly taken care of.

Bionicle 3: Mask Of Shadows

B – Pretty Good
Bionicle 3 Web Of Shadows (2005) is the third in the Bionicle trilogy. After the events of Bionicle 2 Legends Of Metru Nui the Toa return to their home to rescue the last of their people. But things have been complicated when some spider like creatures take over Metru Nui.
A very good ending to the trilogy. The story keeps true to both the original story and the movie the preceded it. As I stated for the first movie it is a very good movie for those with children.

Bionicle: Mask Of Light

A – Great!
Bionicle Mask Of Light (2003) is a movie reproduction of the popular comic book line and the Lego series. The movie follows the story of two Matoran, Jaller and Takua as the search for the seventh Toa.
This movie shows that there can be great direction and animation in the same movie. Bionicle, brings great dialogue and theme. It is a very good movie, especially for those who have kids.

Alien Resurrection

B – A nice save.
(1994) Alien Resurrection is the fourth and final movie in the Alien storyline. The story takes place on the military ship Auriga. A science team revives Ripley in removes the queen Alien from her. Because of the special nature of Ripley they decide to keep her alive. Little do they know that a rebel pirate ship, The Betty will provide the Aliens with humans to make more. Ripley meets up with the group of the Betty and joins to help with the destruction of the Aliens.
Pretty good. The movie could use a little more but as a conclusion episode it was very nice. Ridley Scott did very well in the directing of this movie.

Alien 3

F – Needs fine tuning.
Alien 3 (1992) is the third out of four Alien movies. After the escape out of LV-421 the ship crash-lands on an old all male prison camp. Ripley is the only surviving member of the crash and is disguised as best as possible to look like a male. After an accident Ripley learns that an Alien has made it onto the planet. Now Ripley must use the aid of the workers to destroy the Alien once an for all.
This movie was very disappointing. It seems that the movie was just thrown together to make a third movie. The only thing that helps the movie is the fact that it is part of the Alien Quadrilogy.

Aliens

B – an OK continuation
Aliens (1986) is the second of the for Alien movies. 50 years after the events of Alien this story takes place when the planet from the first movie is colonized and the colony goes silent. Ripley (Weaver) goes with a special forces team to determine what happened.
Aliens is an adequate sequel to the original movie. Even though it could be better I believe that it sums up things quite well.

Alien

A – Original
Alien (1979) is a very popular science fiction movie. The movie takes place on the transport ship Nostromo. The ships computer “Mother” detects a signal coming from the planet. The ship’s crew, deciding it is a distress beacon travels to the planet to see what happened. While on the planet a team member is infected with an alien organism. Little does the team know that the organism is actually a hunter that will terrorize the crew unitil on survives. Starring Sigourney Weaver.
This movie brings Sci fi at the top. The movie has beautiful direction, Ridley Scott really pulls out his best, not only in this movie but all the others.  Alien is just the tip of the iceberg of what this series offers.

Airplane

A – Classic
Airplane (1980) is as stated before, classic. The comedy is original, and witty. Starring Robert Hayes the story is about an airplane trip that simply goes wrong after widespread food poising.
What this movie lacks in story it surely makes up in comedy and direction. That is basically how you could sum it up. Since Airplane there really has been no comedy since Airplane that would match up.

Accepted

B – Pretty good movie
Accepted (2006) offers much in the way of comedy. Starring Justin Long, Accepted is about a High school senior that has been rejected to every college that he has applied to. With his best friend Shrater (Anthony Heald) they create a fake college so Gaines (Long) can impress his parents. The problem being is that many people in Gaines’ position also found the fake colleges site and has enrolled. With his friends the four must keep the college together while trying to keep a local Ivy league school away from taking their property.
Accepted brings some humor that is usual of the time that it was made. It also brings together a great cast including Lewis Black as the college’s dean. The direction pretty good and the concept was great. The comedy was very well put. My favorite was the name of the school, South Harmon Institute Of Technology (S.H.I.T.)
Accepted is a movie worth seeing. Rent if you want it is good for any movie night.
